Boston Pizza has always had a close relationship with local sports teams, but they wanted to connect with them on a deeper level. Our solution? Team HQ.
Team HQ is a national program that rewards local sports teams for eating at Boston Pizza. The concept is simple: the more you eat at Boston Pizza with your team, the more rewards you get. It includes a website—as well as apps for iOS and Android devices—that allows team members to submit their restaurant receipts, earn rewards, and work together to reach their goals.
It also includes incentives for participation. The top performers on each team receive special badges, like “MVP” and “Online Hero”. Even the “bench warmers” get recognition (there’s a special badge for them too). Teams also have a chance to compete for top spot on their local restaurant’s leaderboard.
From initial concepts to finishing touches, I had the opportunity to play an integral role in every step of this project’s process. As the lead copywriter, I developed the voice for the entire program – as well as copy for the site, the apps, the email communications and the promotional videos.
